While my daughter was in Prague, I found this blog (in Japanese) by a Japanese person who lives in Prague. I left questions and she answered them for me and she was quite helpful. In there was an interesting custom in Czech.http://plaza.rakuten.co.jp/natsumocona/diary/200808260000/#comment
According to her, there is a rule about female names in Czech . . . adding OVA to the end of your father or husband's last name. (They were doing that to Japanese athletes during the Olympics broadcasting. How funny is that?)
Swimming of Nakamura, for example, became Nakamurova, and Ando became Andova, she says. So if you are a female and have a chance to visit Czech, you should introduce youself with OVA in the end. You surely start sounding like a local!
